The Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice replaces the V1 Verifier Award. The revised standards are designed to reflect the requirements of Internal Quality Assurance in all occupational sectors, and are also the benchmark of good practice in the assessment of NVQ qualifications.

Internal Quality Assurance trainees are required to demonstrate their knowledge, understanding and relevant IQA skills to be awarded with their respective IQA qualification. Depending upon the IQA qualification chosen, the trainee may also be expected to carry out a minimum four assessments on your two assessor candidates.

Course Aim

The course includes the following units:
- Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment
- Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility
- Internally assure the quality of assessment

How the 4 week course works
1) Call us on 020 3744 7278 or email us for a booking form and book on to your training date
2) Receive your workbook and theory text book when you arrive for day one of your training
3) Attend the 4 day tutor-led classroom based course and complete your coursework assignments

The theory side of the course is made up of coursework tasks which are answered in questions & answers format.

Trainee IQAs are expected to demonstrate knowledge of assessment. They will also be expected to carry out a minimum four assessments on two assessor candidates. The assessments should include checking prior learning, observation of practice and work products, questioning and discussions. You are free to use any other appropriate additional assessment methods. Simulation is not allowed.

It is possible to combine both the theory and practical requirements of the course at the same time depending on your needs. We however usually give trainee-IQAs up to three weeks to complete the unit questions that come with unit one. Once they are done with the theory and ready for the practical part of the course, they can then go ahead to prepare, plan and conduct assessments with their two candidates.

All course work is to be handed in to your tutor at the end of your day 4.
